Wow! The guy's brilliant.
And when they are ...
And when they are found, usually when developers are trying to build something, it takes a court battle to keep them from destroying the site. There's no real protection for our historic sites, few & far between as they are. I cringe every time a see a developer add modern elements to our early 19th century buildings, losing what is left of the past forever & making what's left as ugly as hell to boot.
I take issue with ...
I take issue with the guy's attitude that he is about the only one who can operate a track hoe precisely. Try digging in a residential city street 10 feet below the water table using a trench box, (with 2 people in it), all the while digging around existing gas lines underground and electric overhead, and swinging 25000 lb. precast structures around, then we'll see who the real hoe operators are.

The man is definitely an artist. I've watched a couple of others with like skills in real life. I've also tried operaing those same machines, which gives me a much greater appreciation for the artistry.
